Derbies at the start of BFPL

  • Champions Ludogorets kick-off the season away to Levski Sofia
  • Bulgarian Supercup final between Ludogorets and Botev Plovdiv to be played on August 9th.
  • Bulgarian Cup final to be played on May 9th 2018.

New 2017/2018 season in the Bulgarian First Professional League (BFPL) will start with some intriguing games.

The league will kick-off on July 14th, autumn part of the season will end on December 12th and the second part will start on February 16th. The season ends on May 24th with a play-off for the Europa League.

Levski Sofia and Ludogorets will face each other at the very start of the season at the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium.

In the first round CSKA Sofia will be away to Slavia Sofia in a capital derby. Last season both teams also met in the first round, but it was at the Bulgarian Army Stadium.

Vereya will travel the short distance of 6 kilometers to Beroe Stadium to face fellow citizens from Beroe. Green’s new head coach Aleksandar Tomash will make his debut against his former club.

Newly-promoted Etar Veliko Turnovo, Septemvri Sofia and Vitosha Bistritsa will face Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Dunav Ruse and Cherno More, respectively.

First Eternal Derby of the season will be just before the winter break, round 13th. Plovdiv Derby will be in the 10th round. Thracian Derby between Beroe and Botev Plovdiv will be in the fifth round.
