Ludogorets defeated Lithuanian’s Suduva 2-0 in the first UEFA Europa League play-off in Razgrad.
Dimitar Dimitrov has made his debut at the helm of the Eagles, as Cosmin Moti and Virgil Misidjan secured the victory at Ludogorets Arena.
Ludogorets had the chance to open the scoring in the 8th minute as Abel Anicet had a go but Suduva’s keeper Ivan Kardum managed a save.
Claudiu Keseru received a good pass from Virgil Misidjan in the 25th minute but headed the ball over. Ludogorets continued to push and had several great opportunities in front of visitors goal, but the first half ended goallessly.
After the break Eagles were all over Suduva but the Lithuanians were defending very well. Ludogorets even hit the post in the 57th minutes.
Minutes later Cosmin Moti, who was booked in the first half and will miss the second leg, opened the scoring. Cicinho crossed the ball in the penalty area and flying Moti has left no chance for Suduva’s goalkeeper.
After that goal, Ludogorets became even more aggressive in search for a second. In the 75th minutes, Nathanael broke down from the left and passed the ball to Keseru. His shot has been miraculously saved by Kurdam, but Misidjan has netted the rebound.
